COMPULSARY COLLECTIONS

Bible distribution
Aim: To assist the Bible Society of South Africa with the printing and distribution of Bibles.

Gratitude Fund (nearst to 11 February)
Aim: To show gratitude to the Lord that He preserved the Reformed Churches for 150 years and still preserves and cares for it. The yield is intended as an additional injection to strengthen the “Emeritaatversorgingstrust”, to assist churches that do not have sufficient financial resources and maintain historic buildings of the GKSA. The collection is done by the Sunday nearest to 11 February (date of establishment of the GKSA).

Church Magazines
Aim: To publish topical articles with a reformed basis and distribute to members and other interested parties at a reasonable price.

Ecumenicity [Abroad]
Aim: To promote liaison with other Reformed Churches with whom the GKSA has close ties in foreign countries

Ecumenicity – Reformed ministry in London
Aim: To assist and build up the Reformed youth living in London with ministry and pastoral help.

“Emeritaatsversorging”
Aim: To help with the honourable care of emeritus ministers, -widows and –orphans of the Reformed Churches with regard to sustenance and medical assistance.

GKSA Sustentation Fund
Aim: To help churches that cannot exist financially independent to assist so that the ministry of the Word can still continue and to provide assistance so that the kingdom of God can spread through the ministry of the Word.

Pro Ecclesia Study Loans Fund
Aim: To support students of needy Reformed church members who want to study at the NWU Potchefstroom financially by means of study loans. Students of Aros and other education-accredited institutions are also eligible for grants from the Fund.

Theological Student Fund
Aim: To assist students studying at the Theological School at Potchefstroom financially with scholarships so that the Reformed doctrine can be developed and spread.

Aim: Promoting independent Reformed schools and education.

Diaconal Assistance Fund, CO, art 25
Aim: To assist ministers who are not in the ministry (or dismissed ministers) and who are in distress.

Aim: To buy books for study and reference purposes for the Jan Lion Cachet Libary of the Theological School of Potchefstroom.

Aim: To support the publication of academic books for the training of theological students and for the introduction of the Reformed doctrine domestically and abroad.

Aim: To help care for the emeriti from the younger churches (former Synod Midlands and Classis Capricorn).

Centre for Church Growth [SBTB]
Aim: To establish a centre for ministry equipment and support [for ministers and elders] under the supervision of the Curators andi n collaboration with the Faculty of Theology.
